The ORCA control system will enable the pumps to maintain a set pressure with variable flow rates, utilising pressure sensing and specialised pump control PID algorithms to vary the pump speed to suit the flow.
The ORCA controller is a purpose built microprocessor based product dedicated to the pump control system and not a PLC, or other controller modified to operate as a pump controller. The software has been developed in-house specifically to suit most pumping applications and has been extensively tested and verified over the last fifteen years.
* One Variable Speed Drive per pump.
LLSA
* Lead Pump VFD, Lag pump/s, Soft Start.
* VFD moves to change the Lead Pump on each restart. One Soft Starter for each pump and one VFD shared across all pumps.
LLS
* Lead Pump VFD, Lag Pump/s Soft Start.
* VFD stays on the Lead Pump, and lags have their own Soft Start.
LLDA
* Lead Pump VFD, Lag Pump/s - DOL
* VFD moves to change the Lead Pump on each restart.
* One DOL starter for each pump and one VFD shared across all pumps.
Notes
* The standard configuration is not suitable for installation in direct sunlight, enquire for other options.
* Maximum ambient operating temperature: 40C, higher temperatures available on request.
* Maximum relative humidity: 95%, non-condensing.
* Designed for 3 phase 400/415 VAC supply with neutral.

Detailed Description
The Orca system can easily be changed from pressure control, to level or flow control. If level control is required simply connect to a level sensor in a tank, set the Orca to Level mode, adjust the level settings and required response rate for each pump. The tank level will be held at the required point over a wide range of outgoing or incoming flows.
For pressure control, a pressure transducer is supplied, which ensures that the system output pressure remains constant regardless of demand. The Orca operates by turning pumps on and off and by controlling the pump speed to keep either the pressure, flow, or tank level at the required set point.
The ORCA variable speed system utilises software developed by Techsys to vary the speed of the pump to accurately control the system according to the feedback from an analogue sensor.
Many options can be connected to the ORCA to build a control package to suit almost any application. The ORCA is commonly used in medium to large irrigation systems, building services, commercial garden enterprises and mine sites, providing accurate and reliable control.
